Glenn Phillips' Fiery 78 Not Enough as Black Caps Fall to India in First T20

Glenn Phillips smashed six sixes in his 78 from 40 balls as part of a 79-run partnership with Mark Chapman and when they both departed an ever-increasing run-rate required proved too much with New Zealand losing by 48 runs. New world No 1 ODI batter Daryl Mitchell (28 from 18) and skipper Mitchell Santner (20 from 13) came together with just over five overs remaining and 96 runs needed which proved too big an ask. India set an imposing target after making 238 for seven led by Abhishek Sharma’s 35-ball 84 and some late hitting from Rinku Singh (44 from 20). Jacob Duffy finished with 2-27 including 14 dot balls.
