BBC Asian Network is looking for brand-new presenters for the return of the station’s highly successful programme Asian Network Represents.
After a three-year hiatus, Asian Network Represents will return to the network in April. As part of its return, Asian Network is looking for 12 brand new, undiscovered voices who live and breathe British Asian culture, music and entertainment and have the confidence to draw in new and existing listeners across the airwaves.
BBC Asian Network is dedicated to nurturing new and emerging voices, and the initiative will give new talent the opportunity to broadcast on the UK’s largest Asian radio station and help provide a springboard for emerging presenters working to carve out careers in national radio and the wider industry.
Between April 2026 and March 2027, the final 12 selected presenters will host four Asian Network Represents shows each, broadcasting every Tuesday, 10pm-11pm.
Asian Network Represents will replace One More Chai, which will come to an end on Tuesday 31 March, after two years on the network.
Applications for this year are open now via the BBC Asian Network website and close at 11.59pm on Thursday 22 February. Asian Network Represents is open to everyone regardless of experience in radio or podcasts.
Ahmed Hussain, Head of Asian Network, says: “Asian Network Represents is such an exciting brand for us and I’m genuinely thrilled to be bringing it back to the station. Finding the next generation of presenting talent is crucial, not just for Asian Network but for the wider industry. There are so many incredible British Asian voices out there and we want to give them the platform, support and space to grow and get paid for it! For everyone who has been asking for the opportunity, this is your chance! We will continue championing voices from across the UK, so wherever you are and whatever your experience, I encourage you to send in a demo.
“I’d also like to thank Gura and SMASH for their work on One More Chai team over the past two years, I’m sure they’ll both continue to bring fantastic energy to their weekend shows.”
From April, Asian Network Represents will broadcast every Tuesday, 10pm-11pm and will be available on Asian Network and BBC Sounds.
