Alice Waddington To Helm Neotext's Action Thriller 'Anonymous Jane'

EXCLUSIVE: Spanish filmmaker Alice Waddington will co-adapt and helm the action thriller Anonymous Jane based on Neotext‘s digital imprint novel of the same name by author and co-writer Luke Preston. Philip J. Silvera is also on board as producer and designer. Anonymous Jane follows Jane, a woman leading a double life as a highly trained deep-cover operative who is pulled back into a deadly international conspiracy that forces her to confront the identities she has kept violently separate. The project is billed as satirical espionage with heightened action and psychological stakes. Waddington’s short Disco Inferno played at 70 international festivals including Palm Springs and Sitges. Her 2019 Sundance breakout, Paradise Hills, starred Milla Jovovich, Awkwafina, Eiza González and Emma Roberts and was released theatrically by Saban films. Since she has written and directed for Amazon EU’s horror series Stories to Keep You Awake and the Benson & Moorhead–featured fantasy Warner Bros’ anthology Tales From the Woods, developed features for Netflix and MGM Studios in the US. She’s also sold TV pilot to Disney Studios. Russell Ackerman, John Schoenfelder, and Jay Schuminsky will produce Anonymous Jane for Neotext. Range’s Austin Lantero will executive produce. Silvera is an Emmy-nominated and Taurus-winning director and producer, known for his decade of second-unit work and two decades in stunts with the Emmy-winning Action Factory, including Deadpool I, Daredevil, Halo, and Terminator: Dark Fate. Ackerman, Schoenfelder, and Schuminsky’s Neotext has is known for character-driven elevated genre projects. The producers’ films have starred Jeffrey Wright (Hold the Dark), Martin Freeman (Cargo), Gary Oldman (Tau), and Tom Hardy (Capone), alongside Michelle Yeoh on the upcoming The Surgeon.
