Upcoming Japanese 7-Seater
Currently, the Maruti Ertiga is one of the most desired 7-seaters in India. It has been the best-selling 7-seaters with a mix of private and fleet buyers. However, there is another 7-seater that sits below the Ertiga and is currently the most affordable in India. It is the Renault Triber. Although a practical car, buyers do not tend to buy one simply because of its non-eye-catching design. To cater to such buyers, Nissan is all set to launch a more modern version of the Triber in India. Nissan calls it the Gravite, and the 7-seater is all set to be launched in India tomorrow, that is on the 21st of January 2026. In terms of pricing, the Gravite is expected to be launched at a similar price point as the Triber. The Triber is currently priced between Rs 6.76 lakh & Rs 10.02 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Nissan Gravite – Design & Features
Nissan has already teased a few design highlights of the Gravite. On the outside, it boasts a more modern design when compared to the Triber. Some design highlights include – sleek LED headlamps, signature Nissan front grille, aggressive front & rear bumpers and stylish LED taillamps. The interior of the Gravite is yet to be revealed. However, we can expect some similarities with the interior of the Renault Triber. The overall dashboard layout should be the same, but will likely have some tweaks, such as redesigned AC vents. Also, the interior will likely boast an all-black interior colour theme for a sporty appeal.

What is also expected to be shared with the Triber is the feature list. The Renault 7-seater is currently offered with features like – a 7.0-inch instrument cluster, push button start, cooled glovebox, an 8-inch touchscreen system, 6-speaker sound system, LED headlamps & taillamps and a lot more. That said, it will be interesting to see if Nissan adds some more features to differentiate itself from the Triber.

Upcoming Japanese 7-Seater – Engine Options
Lastly, it will be the engine options that are expected to be shared as they are with the Triber. Currently, the Triber is offered with a 1.0-litre petrol engine producing 71bhp and 96Nm of torque. This engine is mated with a 5-speed MT & 5-speed AMT gearbox options. However, it will be interesting to see if Nissan takes a bold step and offers the much-asked 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with the Gravite!
